Song Of The Moment

Luna

the moon draws close as the waves intensify.
the sea grows tired of these ephemeral meetings.
the ocean becomes weary of being a lunar marionette, but is helpless to its gravitational touch.
the moon, such a self centered being, is unaware.
it exists only to illuminate and be beautiful.
the full orb draws close to kiss the ocean, raging restlessly and yearning to touch its hopeless lover.
too soon does the cold orbital stone draw away.
the ocean, devastated once more, reminds itself that the object of its affection will always be barely out of reach, no matter how strained the waves become to touch it.
a lesson to be learned and relearned every time.
despite this, the sea remains dutifully submissive to its Luna.
