Song Of The Moment

Masquerade

I write using a lot of metaphors
Like this...
"When you left, the further you walked the more I could feel my soul being pulled through my pores"
And I use similes too
Like this:
"You shattered my heart like a delicate glass battling a skew"
Maybe it's because I'd rather do this
Over flat out saying how I felt when you lied to me
I'd rather find ways to compare your smile to a sunset scene
Cause it hurts too much to actually talk about the pretty little curve of your hips
I'd rather compare my broken heart to a supernova
Than talk about the nights I spent mourning now that it's over
Rather compare this feeling in my chest to something imagined maybe
Than face the fact that I'm as broken as the promises you made me
